Staffordshire Police continue to appeal for witnesses to an incident in Newcastle Under Lyme on the afternoon of 04/09/2026. 

We were called to Orme Road just after 5pm, Friday 4 September, by colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Jamie Evans  aged 20 from Stone  was found to have serious injuries consistent with a stab wound.  He was taken to hospital, where he sadly died.  His family are being supported specially-trained officers. Jamie's family described him as wonderful son, loving brother and doting uncle whose warmth, kindness and great sense of humour bought happiness to everyone around him.

A 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, both from the Newcastle-under-Lyme area, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.  They both remain in custody whilst our enquiries continue.  A 19 year old man has also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. They remain in custody.
