Staffordshire Police are continuing to appeal for information after Police were called to an address in Corporation Street , Stafford and two children were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.


Details of Incident

Staffordshire Police continue to appeal for information after a girl and a boy who were tragically found dead in Stafford this morning (Sunday 12 October).

Meraj Ul Zahra, aged two, and Abdul Momin Alfaateh, aged three, were both found unresponsive with injuries inside a home on Corporation Street.

Sadly, they both died at the scene.

Their next of kin continue to be supported by specially-trained officers at this tragic time. We would ask that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.

A woman who was arrested in relation to the deaths, is related to the victims, and  has been detained under the Mental Health Act after being assessed by medical professionals 

A police cordon also remains in place on Corporation Street. and a number of our officers are still in the area. We would like to thank the local community for their understanding and help at this difficult time

The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) as is routine following earlier police contact.
