At 10.25 am Friday 11 April, a grey Nissan van struck a member of the public at Aston Wood Golf Club on Blake Street following a pursuit by West Midlands Police cars.

The woman who tragically died has been named as Suzanne Cherry, 62, of Aldridge.

John McDonald, 51 of Bloxwich has been charged with manslaughter, assault by beating and failing to stop a vehicle when directed by a constable.  Johnny McDonald, 22 of Dudley and Brett Delaney, 34, of Darlaston have both been charged with manslaughter.  Three other men who were arrested in connection with the investigation have been bailed with conditions.

Staffordshire Police are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area of Blake Street and Birmingham Road between Sutton Coldfield and Shenstone at approximately 10.25am on Friday. If you have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage, or were in the area please get in touch.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is continuing to investigate the circumstances prior to the collision when West Midlands Police officers were responding to the vehicle being involved in reports of suspicious activity.
