At 10.25am this morning (Friday 11 April) a grey Nissan van struck a member of the public on Aston Wood Golf Club on Blake Street following a pursuit by West Midlands Police cars.

We are working with West Midlands Police to trace the driver and two passengers who ran off from the scene.

A woman was injured in the collision and has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Specialist officers are supporting the woman’s family.

The vehicle had been pursued by West Midlands Police officers prior to it entering the golf club site – following reports of suspicious activity.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct have been informed by West Midlands Police as is standard procedure, who are now investigating.

Staffordshire Police is keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area with any information or dashcam footage that could help the investigation.
