Appeal following Staffordshire Violent Disorders

Appeal following incidents of violent disorder in Stoke-on-Trent (3 August) and Tamworth (4 August). A Public Portal has been set up to give police a streamlined way of gathering evidence required to track down those responsible and speak to the public who will no doubt have vital information that can help.

Details of Incident

Staffordshire Police have stepped up efforts to robustly investigate both incidents of violent disorder across Staffordshire this weekend. A dedicated team of detectives has been tasked with finding those responsible and bringing them to justice.

Drone surveillance, body-worn video and the National Police Air Service (NPAS) has gathered footage of people involved in incidents that took place in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday (3 August) and Tamworth on Sunday (4 August).

Using our own surveillance, as well as a vast array of videos that have been shared on social media, we’re continuing to trawl rigorously through the evidence to take robust action against those involved.

Our officers have been acting valiantly to protect the public. A number of them have been assaulted, which is completely unacceptable. Thankfully, none of their injuries are serious.

As part of this investigation, we’ve set up a major incident public portal (MIPP). We want people to share all the information they have with us using this portal, which can be accessed here:
