Operation DREY

Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information with regards to an incident that happened in Millrise Road, Milton at approximately 2130 hrs, which has sadly concluded with the death of a male.


Details of Incident

Detectives are investigating after a man sadly died following an assault in Stoke-on-Trent.

We were called to Millrise Road, Milton, at 9.30pm on Sunday 7 May following reports that a man had been punched following an altercation with another man.

Neil Gaskell, aged 55, from Milton, suffered a serious head injury. He was rushed to hospital by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

We then arrested an 18-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent in relation to the incident. He was later released on conditional bail with strict conditions while we completed our inquiries. 

Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical staff, the man was pronounced dead in hospital on Tuesday (23 May).
