Police are appealing for information following the Sexual Assault of a woman in Great Wyrley

As part of the investigation into the sexual assault of a woman in Great Wyrley on Saturday the 24th April 2021, Staffordshire Police are carrying out anniversary checks in the area.


The assault took place at approximately 5pm when the woman was walking her dog in woodland off Walsall Road, near to The Star Inn. A male fled in the direction of Fishley Park.


The man is descried as white, aged in his late 20s, approximately 5ft 10in tall and had a local accent. He is also described as having light-coloured hair and bushy eyebrows.


The male was wearing a faded black hooded top, a blue surgical Covid mask, a baseball cap with a black peak, black Polyester jogging bottoms with a white stripe around the shin area. he was also wearing black trainers, similar to Nike Air trainers but unbranded.


The attack occurred in daylight hours and we are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the area and or at the Star Inn. We are keen to speak to a man wearing dark clothes carrying a backpack, who was in the same area, prior to the assault at approx. 3pm.
