Operation Mage - Murder of Adam Anderson

Police Scotland are appealing for information regarding a murder in Greenock on 2 January 2022.

Details of Incident

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of 22-year-old Adam Anderson in Greenock on Sunday, 2 January, 2022.

Adam was found seriously injured in a car park off Ann Street in the town around 3.50pm.

He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital but died a short time later.

His death is now being treated as murder following a post mortem and an investigation is ongoing, led by detectives from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team.

Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Grainger said:

“Our thoughts are very much with Adam’s family and friends at this difficult time.

We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances which have led to Adam’s death and I would urge anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward.

We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area in Greenock during the afternoon of Sunday, 2 January and may have seen or heard any disturbance to get in touch as soon as you can to help us identify whoever is responsible for Adam’s death.”
