APPEAL FOR INFORMATION

Police have launched a murder enquiry after a 26-year-old man was shot and killed in Blantyre on Monday, 17 August, 2020.

Around 5pm, Graham Williamson (26) from Caithness Street, Blantyre, was in back gardens of Caithness Street when he was shot by a man who had approached him from behind.

Mr Williamson managed to make his way back onto Caithness Street where he was assisted by members of the public until the ambulance arrived.  He was then taken to University Hospital Wishaw where he died a short time later.

The suspect, only described at this time as wearing dark clothing and either a hood or balaclava covering his face, was seen getting into a dark coloured car waiting nearby.  It then drove off at speed out of Caithness Street.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Kevin Jamieson is appealing for witnesses with any information, including CCTV or dash-cam footage, they may have in connection with the incident.
