Murder of Steven John DAVIES

South Wales Police have launched a Murder Investigation following the discovery of the body of a male at an address at Garth Avenue, Glyncoch, near Pontypridd. The male was found by a neighbour just after 11.00am on Wednesday 15th June 2022. The male has been formally identified as Steven John DAVIES 39 years. A Post Mortem has been completed today which has confirmed that he died from a stab wound. A 34year old female from the Pontypridd area has been arrested this afternoon and is currently in custody at Bridgend. Steven's family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

 

From Senior Investigating Officer DCI Mark LEWIS, "This is clearly a shocking and upsetting incident for the community of Glyncoch and wider Pontypridd area. Our thoughts are with Steven's family and friends at this very difficult time. Whilst it is a positive development that we have been able to make an early arrest i am still making an appeal for information around the movements of Steven, in particular between the 1st and 15th June. We believe Steven spent sometime in the Rhydyfelin area of Pontypridd. anyone with information is able to provide information.
