Serious injury collision in Bournemouth – witness and dashcam appeal

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a serious injury collision in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 1.10pm on Thursday 1 May 2025 of a collision in Kinson Road, near to the junction with Cherford Road, involving an e-bike and a car.

It was reported that the car involved – a blue Mercedes – failed to stop at the scene.

Emergency services attended and a man aged in his 20s was taken by air ambulance to hospital for treatment to injuries that were believed to be life-changing.

A second man, also aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

Following fast-time enquiries, a 37-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. A 17-year-old boy and a 36-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. All three people – from Bournemouth – remain in custody at this time.

Detective Inspector Ian Allen, of Dorset Police, said: “An investigation is underway into the incident and there will be an increased police presence in the area as enquiries continue.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened and has not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“In addition, if anyone saw the manner of driving or riding of either the car or the bike in the moments before or after the collision, I would ask you to please contact us.

“Finally, I would urge any motorists with dashcam or residents with home CCTV footage to please get in touch.

“The incident is believed to involve people who are known to each other and is the subject of a detailed investigation by detectives. We would encourage anyone with information or concerns to please speak with an officer.”
