Appeal for information regarding the death of Sam Mechelewski

Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a man’s body at 1.40 p.m. Thursday 1st February by a member of the public in a wooded area of Hinchingbrooke Country Park. 

He has since been identified as Sam Mechelewski, 20, from Huntingdon.

Detective Chief Inspector Adam Gallop said "we believe this was a targeted attack that has sadly resulted in the death of a young man"

Sam was last seen alive around 8.15 p.m. on the 31st January along Ermine Street, Huntingdon.  Police are appealing for anyone who knows Sam and saw him that evening or knows of his movements up until 1.40 p.m. 1st February, or anyone who was in the Park and noticed anything suspicious, to contact them as a matter of urgency.
