Murder investigation following the discovery of a female body in Guildford

Details of Incident

On 23 August 2021 the Surrey and Sussex Police Major Crime Team launched a murder investigation, following the discovery of the body of a woman believed to be in her forties in Guildford.

The body was discovered around 3pm on the 23 August and was located in undergrowth on the northbound A3 slip road, close to the junction of the A320 Woking Road. It is believed the woman was murdered elsewhere and her body left at this location.

A post mortem has been conducted and she has been identified as a 41 year old female, Helen Anderson from the North London area.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Emma Vickers, who is leading the investigation, reports:

“From further enquiries, we believe that the body was left at the location in the early hours of Monday morning between 0300 and 0430. We are appealing to the public who may have been in the area around that time and have any further information or Dash-cam footage to contact us as they may be able to assist us with this investigation.

We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have witnessed a double-decker bus in the area around that time which could be connected to our investigation.”
