Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary appeal for information after fatal house fire in Alton
Details of Incident
Officers investigating the deaths of 91-year-old Stan Rickman and 88-year-old Roma Rickman in Alton have made four further arrests and re-arrested a fifth person.
We were called at 4am on Monday 14 April, to reports of a fire at a house in Heron Close, Alton. Firefighters and police attended but Stan and Roma were pronounced dead at the scene.
Yesterday (Tuesday 15 July) as part of our investigation we arrested four 15-year-old boys from Alton on suspicion of murder. A fifth boy, also aged 15, from Alton who had been previously arrested and bailed was re-arrested on suspicion of murder. All five have now been conditionally bailed until 15 October while our investigation continues.
A 32-year-old man from Aldershot and a 16-year-old boy from Alton previously arrested on suspicion of murder remain on bail with conditions.
A 15-year-old boy from Bordon previously arrested on suspicion of murder has been released without further action.
As part of our ongoing investigation, we remain keen to hear from anyone who has information that could assist us.
In particular, we want to hear from anyone who could have seen any suspicious behaviour in the area of Heron Close between midnight and 5am on April 14, or if you have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from these times.
