Attempted Murder in Tilbury on 2nd January 2022


Details of Incident

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Tilbury are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

It was reported members of the public found the victim, a man in his 30s, had been found injured in Feenan Highway shortly before 2145 hrs yesterday (Sunday 2 January).

He was taken to hospital where he is in a life-threatening condition.

A 19-year-old man from Tilbury was arrested just after midnight today (Monday 3 January) on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody.

Detective Inspector Julie Gowen, who’s leading the investigation, said: “We are working to establish the circumstances which led up to the victim becoming injured.

“Officers worked quickly, making an arrest and I do not believe the incident poses a threat to the wider public.

“We believe the victim was attacked in the area of Feenan Highway and need anyone in the area with CCTV, doorbell cameras, or dash cam to check their cameras.

“In particular between the times of 1800 hrs and 2200 hrs.

“If you saw or heard anything or have any information, I need you to get in contact.”
