Identity sought of person involved in Serious Assault of male in Valkyrie Road, Westcliff on Saturday 30th October

Assault of male in Valkyrie Road, Westcliff early hours of Saturday 30th October

Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate investigating a serious assault in Westcliff over the weekend are releasing an e-fit of a man they want to speak to.

A man in his 20s was left with serious injuries after being attacked in Valkyrie Road shortly after midnight on Saturday (30th October).

He was taken to hospital where his condition was initially considered life-threatening. Fortunately, that prognosis has improved.

A 31 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Sunday but has now been released without charge.

Detective Inspector Kev Hughes, who's leading the investigation said: "We are continuing to support the victim and their family and a team of detectives is working hard to identify his attacker."

"Through our investigation we have gathered a significant amount of CCTV from the area and are now trying to identify those pictured, including eliminating people."

"So I need anyone who was in Valkyrie Road, specifically in the area of the junction with Brittania Road, Station Road, and Westcliff Railway Station, particularly walking between the Lamb and Lion pub to the Station between 11.30pms on Friday 29th October and 12:30am Saturday 30th October to contact us."

"We also need anyone who saw anything or has CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage to come forward."

"We continue to believe this was a targeted attack and there's no wider risk to the public from this incident."
