Murder Promenade Felixstowe 10th August 2024

The Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team have launched a murder investigation after the body of Charlie Greaves was found in a chalet at a holiday park following an incident at Felixstowe Promenade near to Uppercliff Road West shortly after 9pm on Saturday, 10th August 2024.


Details of Incident

Police have charged a 28 year old man from Felixstowe with the murder of Charlie Greaves who was found deceased following an incident at the Promenade, Felixstowe on Saturday, 10th August 2024. Charlie was found deceased at an address in Carr Road, Felixstowe the next day, Sunday 11th August 2024.

The incident is reported to have taken place at around 9.20pm on the seafront Promenade by Undercliff Road West.

Police were then called by the ambulance service at 10.30am on Sunday 11 August 2024 to Suffolk Sands Holiday Park where Charlie was found deceased.

A Home Office post-mortem indicated the cause of death as being a traumatic head injury, pending further investigation.

Daniel Martin from Felixstowe was originally arrested on Monday 12 August 2024 on suspicion of murder. He was released on bail and subsequently rearrested on the 5th September 2024. Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service he was charged with murder and appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on the 6th August 2024. He was remanded in custody and his trial has been set for 28th April 2025.

Officers continue to ask anyone who may have witnessed an altercation or who has any information about the incident to contact the investigating team. This includes anyone with CCTV or a video doorbell between Ranelagh Road and Undercliff Road West, or that may have been driving in the area between 8.30pm and 9.20pm that may have a dash camera.
