Suspicious Death Lordscroft Lane Haverhill

The Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team have launched an investigation following the death of a man in Haverhill.


Details of Incident

A woman arrested in connection with the death of a man in Haverhill has been released on bail, as Police enquiries into the incident continue.

 

Police were called by the ambulance service at 7.53pm on Tuesday 2 December, to reports a man had suffered serious injuries at an address in Lordscroft Lane.

 

The ambulance service attended and a man aged in his 50s was initially treated for serious injuries, however he sadly died a short time later.

 

A Home Office post-mortem examination took place on Thursday 4 December and concluded that the cause of death was a fatal injury caused by a crossbow bolt.

 

A 61-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

 

Detectives made an application for a warrant of further detention at Ipswich Magistrates' Court and were granted additional time to question the suspect.

 

The woman has now been released on Police bail until Monday 2 March 2026, pending further enquiries.
