The Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team have launched an investigation following the death of a man in Ipswich


Details of Incident

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Ipswich.

 

Police were called at 11.37am on Tuesday 23 December, to reports that a man had been found dead within a property in College Street, Ipswich.

 

The Ambulance Service attended but the man, aged in his 30s, was declared deceased at the scene.

 

A Home Office post-mortem examination was conducted on Wednesday, 24 December. The provisional findings indicate that the man died as a result of injuries to the head, neck and face. A formal determination of the cause of death will follow pending further investigation.

 

A 38-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

 

Lithuanian national, Arvydas Maliusis, 38, of Recorder Road, Norwich, was subsequently charged with murder. He has been remanded to appear before Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Friday 26 December.

 

The woman was subsequently released on conditional bail.

 

A Police scene remains in place at the premises while enquiries continue.
