Murder of Mark Franklin in Norwich

Police in Norwich are seeking the assistance of the community with their enquiries into the murder of Mark Franklin who was found dead in his house in Appleyard Crescent, Norwich on the evening of the 29th April 2022.


Details of Incident

Mark Franklin was last seen alive on Monday, 25th April 1992. Following concerns for his welfare police entered his house in Appleyard Crescent, Norwich on the evening of the 29th April 2022. Mark had suffered head injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Officers from the Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Major Investigation Team are undertaking the investigation supported by a wide range of specialists and officers from the Norwich area.

Detective Inspector Lewis Craske who is leading the investigation said:

“Officers would like to ask anyone who uses or is familiar with Appleyard Crescent in the city to come forward, particularly if they have noticed any suspicious activity involving people or vehicles in the vicinity.

We know that Mr Franklin lived alone and we are keen to build up a picture of his lifestyle, including his friends and acquaintances in the Norwich area or further afield.

We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in recent contact with Mr Franklin or who may have vital information to help piece together his final movements and to understand his day-to-day life.

Any piece of information, no matter how small, could assist the investigation.”
