Operation Valyrian Appeal for Information

Murder of Una Crown in Wisbech 12th January 2013

Details of Incident

Police are appealing for information into the murder of Una Crown in Magazine Lane, Wisbech on Saturday 12th January 2013.

Police believe the killer was known to Una and are asking for residents of Wisbech to think about the movements of friends or family members between 1600 hrs and 2100 hrs that evening and any out of character behaviour in the following days.

DI Lee Martin from the Major Crime unit said “We know Una was a very private person who would not usually invite people into her home and would check who’s at the front door from her bedroom window before opening it. I do not believe she would have opened the front door to anyone she didn’t know especially during the hours of darkness on a winters evening. We have to keep an open mind as to why and how this murder occurred and to that end, it is a possibility that the killer was already inside her property, either invited or not, so I want to appeal to any local resident who had friends or family who had commitments in Wisbech that evening, be it for work or pleasure, to come forward. Information received over the last 10 years has not brought further investigative opportunities and although we are very grateful for everything we have received, what we have received had already been in the public domain in the form of social media speculation or journalistic material so my plea is for that person with the one key piece of information that isn’t public knowledge to assist us in cracking this case and getting justice for Una and her family”

Crimestoppers have issued a reward of £20,000 for key information that would lead to the conviction of the murderer.
