Man bailed as enquiries into death of Chesterfield man continue


Details of Incident

A man arrested by officers investigating the death of a man in Chesterfield has been released on police bail.

The man was arrested on suspicion of the murder of Jason Smith who died at hospital on Thursday 22 January.

The 53-year-old was found with serious injuries at his home Southgate Way, Barrow Hill, shortly before 1pm on Tuesday 20 January.

The arrested man, a 20-year-old man from Sheffield, was released on police bail yesterday evening (Saturday 24 January) and enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding his death.
