A murder investigation has been launched in Northampton following the death of a man in the Standens Barn area of the town yesterday evening (Wednesday, December 11).

Officers were called at about 5.40pm to Flaxwell Court following reports that a man had been seriously assaulted. Sadly, and despite the best efforts of emergency services at the scene, he died shortly afterwards in hospital.

Three arrests have been made already in connection with the murder investigation. These men are aged 22, 23 and 25 and remain in police custody.
