A murder investigation (Operation Aspen) has been launched in Leicester, following a stabbing on Gispy Road, Leicester on Thursday 15th June 2023.

Police were called to a report that a man had been stabbed close to the junction with Melton Road, shortly after midday. Officers attended the scene, along with colleauges from the East Midlands Ambulance Service, but the man was pronounced dead a short time later. 

At the time the Police were contacted, officer's had been called to a school in Melton Road following a report of threats being made, the two incidents are not connected to one another. 

Leicester Police are interested to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have been in the area or have CCTV/Dashcam footage.
