We’re appealing for witnesses as we investigate after a man was found with gunshot wounds outside a property near Phoenix Park, Dudley Road, Wolverhampton, early today (Tuesday 26th August).

Officers were called to Hailes Park Close, at just before 2am where a man had injuries which are believed to be potentially life-threatening.

The man in his 30s was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Officers carried out a thorough search of the area and house-to-house enquiries continue today as investigators work to identify and trace who was responsible.

The park has been sealed off while on-going forensic examinations are completed and CCTV is also being recovered and reviewed as enquiries continue.

Our teams know that incidents like this can be a real cause for concern but officers believe this is an isolated incident and extra patrols are being carried out to offer reassurance to people in the area over the coming days.

We would ask that anyone who has any information or doorbell footage from around the time if the incident gets in touch with investigators.
