Witness Appeal
Birmingham City Centre Disorder
Details of Incident
Detectives are continuing to investigate disorder in Birmingham city centre which broke out last Friday (18 July).
We are appealing for anyone with information or footage to submit it to us via our Public Portal.
We were called to reports of disorder in the city centre at around 2.30pm and officers that were already in the area swiftly attended. Additional officers also attended to help clear the area, and a dispersal order was put in place.
An investigation into the disorder is ongoing. This includes an extensive review of CCTV footage, and we are working with our partners to identify any offenders and victims.
We are aware of reports of a stabbing. However, we, along with our partner agencies, are not aware of a stabbing incident. However, we’d urge anyone who has been a victim of a crime, or has information which could help us, to get in touch.
We reiterate that this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated and we will make sure those who think otherwise will be dealt with robustly.
