Murder of a man aged 22

Police are appealing for information in relation to the murder of male who was fatally stabbed on Bloxwich Road, Walsall around 1715 last night, Monday 17th March 2025.


Details of Incident

We’ve arrested a man on suspicion of murder after the death of a man who was stabbed in Walsall last night.

The 22-year-old was stabbed on Bloxwich Road at around 5.15pm. He was taken to hospital but died just before midnight.

A 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody today.

We are supporting the family of the man who died at this tragic time.

Det Insp Joe Davenport, leading the investigation, said: “We’re at a very early stage of the investigation and are working hard to understand what has happened and why.”

“I’d urge anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or other footage from the area at the time to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

We have increased patrols in the area and uniformed officers will be in the area today to offer reassurance to our community and listen to their concerns.

Last night, Section 60 powers were put in place across Walsall allowing us to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds. Those powers will remain in place until 8am tomorrow (Wednesday).

As always, our main focus is on keeping everyone safe.
