An investigation has been launched following reports of disorder on Foundry Lane, Smethwick last night (26 May).

Officers attended just before 9.30pm where there was a large gathering.

Two men attended hospital with stab wounds. A 21-year-old man remains in a serious condition.

A 19-year-old man and two 18-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of wounding and remain in police custody.

We are carrying out CCTV enquiries and speaking to witnesses but would ask anyone with information to get in touch.

We’re aware of footage being posted on social media and would ask people to not share this as we work through our investigation.

Detective Inspector Francis Nock from West Midlands Police, said: “Serious violence and the use of weapons on our streets impacts communities, causes fear and will not be tolerated.

“We will have officers in the area today to offer reassurance to the local community and would ask anyone with information to get in touch.”
