Murder of Jinming Zhang

Police are appealing for information in relation to the Murder of Jinming Zhang who was fatally stabbed just before 7pm on Wednesday 9th February 2022 at a flat in Moseley Street, Digbeth, Birmingham.


Details of Incident

Jinming, who was also known as Ming, was 44 years of age.

 

The suspect is described as a black male, thought to be in his 20s, and between 5ft 2ins and 5ft 5ins tall. He was of slim build and was wearing dark clothing, gloves, a dark hat, a mask and a bag across his body. At the time of the offence he was observed to have a distinctive walk

He may have changed his clothing after the Murder and changed in appearance since 2022.

 

We know he travelled to and from the Murder using the River Rea network.

 

We believe he injured his hand during the Murder, so if you know anyone who fits this description please let us know.

 

A post mortem examination confirmed Jinming died of multiple stab injuries.

 

Detective Inspector Kay Thompson, from our Homicide team, said: "We've continued extensive enquiries since the 2022 Murder to try and establish who was responsible for Mr Zhang’s death, and why. We are releasing a fresh appeal in the hope this information may help witnesses come forward".

 

"We understood our prime suspect was on foot, and used the River Rea network. If anyone believes they may have seen him, or even spoken to him as they passed in the street, please get in touch".
