South Yorkshire Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found unconscious on Grimesthorpe Road, Sheffield
Details of Incident
A man who died in a Sheffield street on Thursday morning has today (Friday 8 April) been formally named as Richard Dentith.
Mr Dentith was found unconscious on Grimesthorpe Road, Sheffield, in the vicinity of Earl Marshall Guest House, in the early hours of 7th April 2022.
Officers attended, alongside the ambulance service at 2.52am, and Mr Dentith was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination carried out yesterday evening (Thursday 7 April) concluded that he died of a single stab wound.
Officers remain in the area and we continue to appeal for witnesses and any information about Mr Dentith's death.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Etheridge, Senior Investigating Officer, said: "We have a dedicated team of detectives working on this investigation and I would urge anyone who has any information to come forward.
"There will be a large police presence in the area today as we continue to carry out enquiries. Please speak to an officer if you have any questions or concerns."
