MURDER AND DISORDER - DUCKWORTH LANE BRADFORD

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the death of a man on Duckworth Lane, Bradford shortly before midnight on 22nd April 2021 following a disturbance. The male had suffered injuries consistent with a stabbing and died in hospital a short time later.


Details of Incident

Police were called at 11.58pm on Thursday, 22 April, to reports of an ongoing fight on Duckworth Lane. A large group of males gathered at the scene who were fighting and damage was caused to a number of cars in the area.

Just after midnight (23 April), a 19-year-old male attended Bradford Royal Infirmary with injuries consistent with a stabbing. He died a short time later in hospital.

Police have made further arrests following the murder of a man in Bradford.
Three men, all aged 25, have been arrested 28 April, one for violent disorder and two for assisting an offender.
All three remain in police custody at this time.
Four males appeared at Bradford Magistrates Court today charged with various offences.
Hashim Sajjad, 19, of Wheatlands Crescent, Bradford, has been charged with murder and section 18 assault.
The other three males charged with section 18 assault are a 16-year-old and two 17-year-olds who cannot be named for legal reasons.
They have all been remanded in custody and will next appear at Bradford Crown Court on Friday 30 April.

Detective Superintendent Mark Swift, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “We know that Mohammed Mujahid Hussain’s death has caused shockwaves in the local community, particularly given that it has happened during Ramadan.
“A man has now been charged with his murder and a number of others remain in custody as we continue to investigate the circumstances that have led to this young man losing his life.
“There will continue to be a high visibility police presence in the area in the coming days and we will also continue to work with the local community to provide updates and reassurance.”
