Details of Incident

Police are investigating the suspected murder of former miner Edward Donnelly, who vanished from his home in Sacriston in 2002.

The 53-year-old was last seen walking alone beside the A167 near the Red Lion pub at Plawsworth at approximately 12.45pm on March 25, 2002.

Police believe that he was murdered but, despite extensive enquiries over the years, his body has not been recovered.

Detectives are convinced that members of the community hold information which could bring the case to a close and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
