ATTEMPT MURDER - SHOOTING LANCHESTER

Durham Constabulary Appeal for Witness and Dashcam footage following shooting in Lanchester 11th August 2025


Details of Incident

Two further arrests have been made following a shooting in Lanchester Hand Car Wash on Monday night.

The men, in their 20s and 40s respectively, were arrested in Newcastle City Centre last night on suspicion of attempted murder.

A man who was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the incident remains in custody today.

Officers are continuing their investigation and are appealing for the public’s help with any witnesses or dashcam footage that shows the suspect car – a black Nissan Navara - leaving the car wash.

The car has since been recovered but officers are asking for any information which may show where it travelled to directly following the incident just after 7.30pm on Monday, 11th August 2025. It was last seen travelling in the direction of Consett.
