Durham Constabulary investigation into the murder of Barry DAWSON on 05/04/2025
Details of Incident
Police are investigating the murder of Barry DAWSON who was shot and killed in the front room of his own home in Elm Street, Stanley on Saturday 5th April 2025 at about 1715hrs
The 60 year old was stood in his front room when unknown suspects have smashed his front room window and discharged a handgun into the room fatally wounding him.
The suspects have used a white Seat Arona NA24 OJK motor vehicle.
This vehicle was found burnt out in the Oxhill area of Stanley the following morning.
Police are keen to trace the vehicles movements on the 5th/6th April and anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of this vehicle or its occupants or have witnessed the attack to contact police.
