Investigation into suspected assault following reports of an altercation around 4:45am on Saturday 13th September 2025 near Powerhouse on Westmorland Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Officers are appealing for information as they investigate a suspected assault in Newcastle.
At around 4:45am on Saturday (September 13), police responded to a report of a disturbance near Powerhouse on Westmorland Road.
It was reported that two men had been involved in an altercation where one of the men has sustained a serious head injury.
Emergency services attended and the victim – a man aged in his teens – was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
His next of kin have been informed.
An investigation has since been launched by Northumbria Police as they try to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Today (Sunday) officers are appealing for anyone with information – particularly witnesses who were near to the area and may have mobile phone video footage – to get in touch.
