Murder of Christopher Linton

Investigation into the murder of Christopher Linton on Saturday 4th October 2008 in Bury, Greater Manchester.


Details of Incident

At around 02:30 hours on Saturday 4th October 2008, Christopher left the Derby Arms Pub, Bolton Street Bury when he began talking to two females near the Blockbuster Video Store and Raja’s Indian Takeaway on Bolton Road. The two females entered a black vehicle parked by the side of Blockbusters which was occupied by two males. Christopher continued to talk to the two females in the back of the vehicle when he was stabbed in the neck causing life threatening injuries. Christopher managed to make his way back to the Derby Arms Pub where an ambulance was called by occupants of the Pub who provided first aid. Christopher was transported to hospital and received lifesaving treatment.
Christopher died on 30th May 2023 after being admitted to Fairfield Hospital in the days prior. It is believed that Christopher has died from medical complications related to the assault. As such Christophers death is now being treated as a murder investigation.
Information is sought from any witnesses from the time of the assault.
