Incident at Chinese Consulate Protest

An incident of disorder is being investigated by GMP whereby a man was assaulted during a peaceful protest being held outside the Chinese Consulate in Manchester on Sunday 16th October.


Details of Incident

At approximately 2:30pm on Sunday 16th October 2022 a pre-arranged organised protest took place outside the Chinese Consulate 71 Denison Rd, Rusholme, Manchester M14 5RX

During the demonstration, individuals from within the consulate grounds, came out and began removing banners and flags and during this incident a protestor was assaulted.

We are looking for anyone who was present and may have witnessed the incident.

We are also aware many of the people present were in possession of cameras and mobile phones and may have captured the incident.

We are seeking any footage captured of the incident to assist in our investigation.
