Murder of Emanuel Simon 26/01/2020

GMP are investigating the murder of Emanuel Simon outside The Dubai Café, 139 Wilmslow Road, Rusholme, Manchester between 5am and 5.20 am on Sunday 26th January 2020. We are appealing for identification of the Individuals shown in the photos to the right of this page (use left/right arrows to browse) and for any images of the Incident you may have.


Details of Incident

Emanuel Simon was a 33 year old Eritrean man, living in Manchester and working towards fulfilling his life-long dream to become a doctor. After attending a wedding celebration earlier in the evening Emanuel and a number of his friends attended at The Dubai Café. A dispute between males in the Café arose and spilled out into the street. Despite being an innocent by-stander, during the disturbance Emanuel was punched and fell to the floor where he remained unconscious. Tragically, Emanuel did not recover from his injuries despite the valiant efforts of Staff at Salford Royal and he lost his life two weeks later.

We are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward, to also identify the males shown and to share any footage you may have of this incident and the males involved.
