ATTEMPT MURDER OF 2 FEMALES IN OLDHAM

GMP are appealing for information about attacks on 2 vulnerable women, that occured on Longfield Crescent, Oldham on 1/11/19 and Stoneleigh Street, Derker, Oldham on 20/11/19


Details of Incident

Police are appealing for more information after two women were assaulted in Oldham last month.

 

Police have released CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the assaults that took place on Longfield Crescent and Stoneleigh Street, Derker, Oldham. To view the footage please copy & paste this link into your browser  https://youtu.be/xBJ3wy_PB58

 

The first incident occurred at 6.30pm on Friday 1st November 2019, when a 61-year-old woman was stabbed on Longfield Crescent, Oldham. The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is now recovering at home.

 

The second incident, which Police believe may be linked, took place on Wednesday 20th November 2019.  On this occasion a 71 -year-old woman was attacked by a man with a knife in an alleyway off Stoneleigh Street, Derker, Oldham.  The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries but is now recovering at home.

 

Detective Inspector Benjamin Cottam, of the Oldham District said: “Thankfully both women survived these violent and motiveless attacks but Police are still working tirelessly to find whoever is responsible for these assaults.
