At about 8.30pm on Saturday, 1st March 2025 Police were called to reports of an assault outside Wetherspoons (The Watch House) Pub in Lewisham High Street. Officers responded with paramedics and found a 63-year old man with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital where he later died. His family have been informed. Police are appealing for witnesses who were in the pub or the High Street and who witnessed a disturbance. Also anyone who recorded the incident, please make contact
Op Cartnut - Appeal for information re assault at Weatherspoons in Lewisham
Approximately 8.30pm on Saturday, 1st March police were called to reports of an assault outside Wetherspoons (The Watch House) pub in Lewisham High Street. Officers responded with paramedics and found a 63-year old male with life threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital where he later died. His family have been informed.
It is believed the man was assaulted following a disturbance at The Watch House Pub. A 42-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at a South London Police Station.
Police are appealing for witnesses who were in the Pub or the High Street and who witnessed a disturbance. Also, anyone who may have recorded all or part of the incident please make contact so that the full circumstances of the incident can be established.
