OP BARTELL – Corrosive Substance Attack, Clapham
Police are appealing for information regarding a corrosive substance attack that took place on Lessar Avenue, Clapham, London, SW4 on the evening of Wednesday 31st January 2024.
Details of Incident
At around 19:25 hours on Wednesday 31st January 2024, police were called to an incident in Lessar Avenue, Clapham, London, SW4. Initial reports stated a young child had been thrown to the floor, as well as an adult female and a second child suffering injuries consistent with them coming in to contact with a corrosive substance.
Prior to police arrival the suspect had made off in his vehicle, crashed into a parked car and made off on foot. This male remains outstanding at this time and it is believed that the male has a facial injury that was obtained during the attack.
Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command have launched a major incident investigation.
Detectives are appealing to members of the public who have any information relating to this investigation. This information is vital to the investigation.
Additionally anyone with CCTV, mobile phone, doorbell or dash cam footage relating to the incident is asked to preserve and supply it to Police at the earliest opportunity as part of the investigation.
