Police are appealing for information following a disturbance on a Route 59 bus on 21/11/2024

On Thursday 21st November, 2024 at approximately 10.20am, Police were called to an incident on Brixton Road near the junction with Loughborough Road, London SW9. A disturbance had taken place on a Route 59 bus, leading to a 40 year old male suffering grave injuries. A 39 year old male made off prior to Police attendance but was detained nearby. He has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The 40 year old victim has now sadly succumbed to his injuries and this is now a murder investigation. 

 

Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command have launched a major incident investigation and are appealing for any information from members of the Public who may have witnessed the incident or have any information relating to it. Any information could prove vital to the investigation.

 

Anyone who has CCTV, mobile phone footage, doorbell or dash cam footage, is asked to preserve and supply it to the Police at their earliest opportunity as part of the investigation. 

 

On Friday 22nd November, 2024, Nathan Grant was charged with attempted murder and theft. He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Central Criminal Court. The charges brought against him will now be reviewed in light of the victim passing away.
