Police are appealing for witnesses after a disturbance in Brachleston Street, Greenock involving a firearm.
Details of Incident
About 1800 hours on Tuesday 12th May 2020, a male was targeted in a shooting incident, which involved a White Hyundai Tuscon motor vehicle.
This vehicle was later discovered burned out about 0300 hours on Wednesday 13th May 2020, on ground near to Mallard Crescent, Greenock.
We are appealing to the public for any information or sightings of this vehicle between the times of it being stolen and being discovered burned out.
Detective Inspector Cameron Miller of Police Scotland Major Investigation team, is keen to gather information around the movements of the White Hyundai Tuscon.
He said: “This was a reckless act in broad daylight, carried out in a busy residential area. While nobody was injured in this attack, the risk posed to members of the public cannot be understated. I would appeal to any member of the public with information about the location of this vehicle between it being stolen and being burned out to contact the Police. I would also appeal to any residents with dash cam or CCTV at their property to check their footage and send any relevant footage into Police via the online portal.
In particular any members of the public that were in the Brachleston Street area of Greenock on afternoon of Tuesday 12th May 2020 or in Mallard Crescent in the early hours of Wednesday 15th May 2020, any sightings of a white Hyundai Tuscon that may be suspicious, or any other information that might assist the Police witness enquiries
