OP SUCCORY - COVENTRY OCTOBER 1993
British Transport Police are re-investigating a number of non-suspicious deaths across the railway network where the deceased persons have never been identified. There was nothing suspicious in any of these deaths but, despite significant enquiries at the time, their identities remain unconfirmed. It is hoped that if these new enquiries are successful, the next of kin may be traced, which will allow their families and friends to have some closure with regards to their disappearance.
Details of Incident
On Saturday 30 October 1993, near to Canley at Earlsden Bridge, Coventry, a male was struck and killed by a train.
Police enquiries at the time and in subsequent years have failed to identify him. Enquiries at the time reveal that the male was intoxicated and may have accidentally slipped down a steep embankment when trying to urinate.
The male is described as white, 25-35 years old, about 5 feet 11 inches in height with a large build.
He was wearing a light blue short sleeve polo shirt, blue jeans and white Mitre trainers. He was also carrying a black Nike shoulder bag.
