Northumbria Police are conducting a murder investigation into the death of Christopher PHILLIPS, 40 years, who was originally from the Berwick area.

At 9am on Monday 14^th August 2023 emergency services were called to Tennyson Court, a block of flats situated on Sunderland Road, Gateshead, where they found the deceased Christopher PHILLIPS. He had suffered a significant head injury following an assault.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious during the late evening of Sunday 13^th August into the early hours of Monday 14^th August 2023 in an around the Tennyson Court area.

Officers are keen to trace Christopher’s movements prior to the assault. He is known to frequent Washington Galleries, Leam Lane Estate and the Tennyson Court area of Gateshead.
