Stabbing on Herne Street, Openshaw

Shortly before 1pm on Monday 6th November 2023, two young males were involved in an altercation and were stabbed. Both received serious injuries.


Details of Incident

At 1248 hours on Monday 6th November, officers received reports that two males who were possibly part of a larger group, had been involved in an altercation. The two young males were stabbed, and both sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital. This incident is believed to have occurred on Herne Street in Openshaw. Some of the group involved are believed to have then travelled down a walkway leading onto Aston Old Road.

The location is in a residential area, so witnesses may have been at home when they saw or heard something, or they may have CCTV or ring doorbell that captured some of the incident.

Drivers in vehicles travelling down Ashton Old Road in Openshaw between 1230 and 1300 may have witnessed part of the incident or may have dash cam footage.
