Detectives are investigating the murder of a male in West Street Erith.

Just before 10.25pm on the 28th August 2023 an altercation took place in West Street Erith between the victim, his friend and two males. During the attack, the victim was beaten by both of the males and left in the street. Seconds after the beating a route 229 bus approached from Lower Road and turned into West Street. As it did, the bus collided with the victim and dragged him 300 metres along the road to the junction of Galleons Close. The victim died at 11.10pm. 

The Police would like to hear from anyone that may have been in West Street at 10.25pm on the 28th August 2023 and may have witnessed the incident.

The Police are trying to establish why this incident happened and are appealing to anyone with any information to come forward

Additionally anyone with CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage relating to the incident is asked to preserve and supply it to the Police as part of the investigation.
