At around 8.45 am today more than 500 officers from Cheshire Police, Greater Manchester Police and Merseyside Police were involved in warrants at Webb House and other addresses in Crewe.
Officers investigating reports of serious offences that have occurred within premises controlled by the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light in Crewe have arrested several people. In March 2026 Cheshire police were made aware of a number of reports of rape, sexual abuse, forced marriage and modern slavery which are reported to have taken place in 2023. All of the offences are reported to have occurred at Webb House in Crewe, whilst the victim, a woman, was a member of the group.
Following a detailed investigation into the allegations, officers have today, Wednesday 29th April, conducted three warrants in Crewe, including Webb House, leading to the arrest of a number of men and women. Following the arrests, detectives are now conducting searches of the premises. Officers are working closely with the local authority to support the residents from the properties and appropriate safeguarding measures are in place.
