At around 8.45 am today more than 500 officers from Cheshire Police,Greater Manchester PoliceandMerseyside Policewere involved in warrants at Webb House and other addresses in Crewe.

Officersinvestigatingreportsof serious offences that have occurred within premises controlled by the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light in Crewe have arrested several people. InMarch 2026Cheshire police were made aware ofa number ofreports of rape,sexualabuse, forced marriage and modern slaverywhich are reported tohave taken placein2023.  All ofthe offences are reported to have occurred at Webb House in Crewe, whilst thevictim, a woman, was a memberof the group.

Following a detailed investigation into the allegations, officers have today, Wednesday 29th April, conducted three warrants in Crewe, including Webb House, leading to the arrest ofa number of menand women.Following the arrests, detectives are now conducting searches of thepremises. Officers areworking closely with the local authority to support the residents from the properties andappropriate safeguardingmeasures are in place.
