Details of Incident
Investigation launched following a terrorist attack at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on the morning of Thursday 2nd October 2025.
On the morning of Thursday 2nd October 2025, Jihad Al Shamie attended at the Synagogue and conducted his attack. Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz sadly died, and three other men were treated in hospital for serious injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. This includes any witnesses, anyone with knowledge of the offence or those involved, anyone who has CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage in relation to the investigation.
CCTV enquiries reveal that several unidentified witnesses were present prior to police attendance, including an elderly man wearing a distinctive brown coloured wide brimmed hat and walked with a walking pole. This man was also walking with a young child at the time of the incident. There were numerous pedestrians and vehicles passing or stopping at the scene to provide care to those injured in the attack.
It is important that all witnesses are identified not only for the investigation but so that we can ensure they have access to all the welfare support options available having witnessed an unimaginably traumatic event.
