OPERATION TALISMAN - INCIDENT AT GREAT YARMOUTH

Shortly after 15:00 hrs Police officers responded to reports of a white Luton Van colliding with pedestrians on Marine Parade pavement in Great Yarmouth, continuing to drive at speed towards the Sea-life Centre of the town. Vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle and occupants of the van were seen heading to the beach and indiscriminately stabbing members of the public. Armed officers were deployed and 4 people have been arrested. Police are urging witnesses to come forward.


Exercise Talisman

Time is 15:00hrs on a weekday in the middle of August, during school holidays. The roads are busy with traffic moving to and from the coast as the weather is nice. Police receive a call into control room stating that there is a van, description given as a white Luton type van driving erratically on the A47 east bound, near Postwick towards Acle. The vehicle is described as speeding and undertaking other vehicles.

 

Multiple Calls into CCR reporting an RTC, vehicle has collided with pedestrians on Marine Parade. The vehicle involved is a white Luton style van. The van deliberately drove at MOP on the pavement and continued to drive at speed towards the Sealife centre area of Great Yarmouth.

 

The vehicle crashed into other parked car and there smoke seen to be coming out of the vehicle. There are numerous casualties lying on the pavement and Members of the public screaming and running away from the location. 

 

3 males and 1 female are seen to exit the van, they appear to have large knives/machetes taped to there wrists and are now seen chasing after victims and stabbing them.

 

Witness reports stated  terrorists headed onto the beach where they indiscriminately stabbed people. A member of the public states he saw them enter the rear entrance to the Sealife centre.

 

Armed officers arrive and 4 individuals were arrested
